Dedicated To Our 22nd Wedding Anniversary: The Benefits Of Marriage – Pastor Bose Adelaja

I would like to declare God’s goodness and faithfulness to me and my family as we celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary this year. The Lord has seen us through these twenty-two years and the majority of it has been blissful. Truly, the Lord is good and His mercy endures forever! His blessings are innumerable, and they should not be taken lightly or for granted. It is not by our own power or might, but His loving kindness towards us, that we have made it this far.

As we celebrate and acknowledge these blessings in our lives, we also analyze and review our relationships in order to improve them. It is not enough to just live, we should also examine our lives.

“The unexamined life is not worth living” – Socrates

Marriage and family takes work. Good family relationships take good work. Great relationships take great work. So, as we work on our relationships, God will be faithful to bless our work and make us victorious in all the seasons of our marriage, our family, and in life in general.

Nothing good comes on a silver platter, without any work done for it, and, a successful marriage takes work! Marriage, just as many other blessings in life, is a trust to study in a practical school of life. It can contribute immensely, positively to our personality, if we see it as a good, essential, and worthwhile school. It is quite unfortunate that the majority doesn’t see it that way. When the purpose of marriage or any other relationship is not acknowledged, then its success becomes a great challenge.

I pray we will all discover the benefits of marriage and family, and increase the value we place in our marriages and family. May we also do our best to make them work. “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Bible So, today, I want to specially thank God for creating the beautiful institute of marriage and family, which is full of great blessings, benefits, rewards, and opportunities, if managed in a godly way, despite the troubles.

After creating man, God saw that it was not good for him to be alone. This was the beginning of marriage; and I thank God once again for this wonderful gift. You may wonder why I call marriage an institution; day in and day out, there is always something new to learn. Our mindset changes, our expectations and general view of life transforms. Thanks to this institution, we all belong to a family. What could we do if we had no partners, parents, siblings or even friends? The world would be like a void, and that is why we must value the families God has given us.

In addition to thanking God, I would like to thank my husband, without whose determination and many outstanding qualities, our family would be different. Thank you, Pastor Sunday, for trying your best for our family. I am grateful for the good parts! God has given us (me) amazing children with unfolding potentials. Each one of them enriches our family in their own special way.

Thank you Perez, Zoe, and Pearl for your understanding, obedience, and efforts.I am enjoying each one of you and every season of your lives. I believe greater things are in stock for us. I look forward to better relationships with you. I want to thank God for my parents, siblings, relatives, in-laws, friends, well-wishers and all the members of our great church, who continuously pray for our family and invest in us. We are your debtors! We will try our best to continue to serve God individually, together as a couple and as a family. By His grace, we shall never give up. May God help us to see more successful in our generation!”
