PRACTICAL STEPS TO OVERCOMING PAIN AND DIFFICULTIES

Usually when we are in pain, all kinds of negative thoughts come to our minds. Those thoughts usually overwhelm us from all directions. They are normally too strong to easily overcome. However above, Jesus taught us the secret of overcoming this major challenge. Stop thinking about it. Begin to think about something else. We overcome these thoughts from shifting our focus from the present reality to the end result that awaits us at the end of the day.

We should focus more on the faithfulness of God. We should think more on his justice and the joy he has waiting for us at the end of the day.

“Focus on giants – you stumble. Focus on God – Giants tumble.” ― Max Lucado

PRACTICAL STEPS TO OVERCOMING PAIN AND DIFFICULTIES

 1. Never focus on the pain and difficulty. Just move on with your life. Keep on doing what you have to do. Keep on thinking about the positive things of life.

“Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will.” ― Zig Ziglar

2. Let your focus be on the end result of your goal and vision.

We all must have a goal and vision, then it is easier to overcome pain and difficulties. When you have drive, something pushing you, things are much easier. When you have a goal to accomplish, you deal better with pain.

“The secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you. If you do that, you’re in control of your life. If you don’t, life controls you.” ― Tony Robbins

3. Focus on God’s promises and faithfulness. One of the best things you could do is to make a list of Gods promises from his word and meditate on them. Derive strength from how he showed his faithfulness to other heroes from the Bible, knowing that you too will soon enjoy victory through his faithfulness and promises.

“A season of suffering is a small assignment when compared to the reward. Rather than begrudge your problem, explore it. Ponder it. And most of all, use it. Use it to the glory of God.” ― Max Lucado

4. Paint a picture of the end. Sometimes it helps to have a mental picture of how you see the end of your predicament. Picture the celebration, picture the joy, picture the victory and live in that picture.

“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.” ― Albert Einstein

5. Some pains must be endured. Because pains don’t normally stop the same time they come. There is always place and room for endurance. We need to psychologically prepare ourselves to endure some amount of pain. That preparedness itself, indicates your victory over that pain.

“Every calamity is to be overcome by endurance.” ― Virgil
