Dear Dr. Sunday Adelaja, I found that your video on PDP's Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar referring to marabout as bandits or terrorists is wrong (see below): Cambridge Dictionary Meaning of “marabout” in the English Dictionary English marabout UK /ˈmær.ə.buːt/ US /ˈmer.ə.buːt/ a Muslim religious leader or teacher, especially in North Africa: Senegalese children have been learning from marabouts in Quranic schools since the 11th century. English traders relied on an African marabout who spoke Portuguese as their interpreter. More examples It is impossible to understand African politics without studying the secret world of marabouts and magic. African immigrants have brought in their own marabouts to banish evil spirits. The work is done on behalf of a local marabout and the proceeds go to support local schools. Thesaurus: synonyms and related words Religious leaders & officials archbishop archbishopric archdeacon archpriest ayatollah clerical confessor curacy curate deacon ministry muezzin mullah padre papal rabbi rabbinical rector sacerdotal sexton See more results » (Definition of “marabout” from the Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary & Thesaurus © Cambridge University Press) Word of the Day promising Something that is promising shows signs that it is going to be successful or enjoyable.
