KUDOS TO OUR OUTGOING PRESIDENT

‘Plato is my friend— Aristotle is my friend — but my greatest friend is the truth’. – Isaac Newton

My Paraphrase – I say ‘Jonathan is a Christian, Goodluck is my President, but Nigeria is my greatest love’

Hello my fellow Nigerians, congratulations again on our successful presidential elections. This is a historic time in Nigeria. I wish to congratulate fellow Nigerians, but specifically I want this my message to go to our outgoing President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.

You are a historic personality by all ramifications. You are the first President to come from any minority groups in Nigeria. The fact that you are from a minority group in itself is historic.

God supernaturally installed you as the President of Nigeria without fighting for it which is historic. Moreover your presidency did not last for one four year term. You have a few more years from President Yar’adua’s tenure which is also historic.

However the greatest of all your achievements so far, for which I and other Nigerians need to duff our hats for you, is that you actually conceded defeat as an incumbent. It is the first time like everybody knows in the history of our land, when an incumbent would concede defeat to an incoming president.

“Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.” Romans 13:7

I like many other Nigerians wish to say a big thank you to you for your moral fortitude and the boldness under the circumstances. If not for that your godly position, we would not be having the moment of ecstatic joy we are having right now as a nation. If you had decided to fight your way through as some of your supporters tried to do, things would have actually gone chaotic in our country.

Therefore I wish to say a big thank you on behalf of all Nigerians. May God richly reward you for your gesture. I believe you still have a great future ahead of you. I believe you are going to end up becoming an international symbol of democracy and goodwill. No doubt the international community is going to take note of your action. You are going to end up advising other African countries and beyond on the benefits of democracy.

Our world needs leaders that would lead by example. You have shown a great example therefore your future is just ahead of you. You definitely have a lot to offer the future generation.

I also wish to say a big thank you to all those people who fought for President Jonathan. A big thank you to those who supported his re-election bid. A big thank you to all those who did their best to make Nigeria a better place.

Even though we may differ in our opinions, I supported Gen. Buhari, someone else supported President Jonathan, but we all love our country. We all love Nigeria. We all wish to see a better Nigeria. Even though we all had different ways, means, strategies and tactics that we use to make Nigeria a better place.

Even though I am not in Nigeria and I probably would not be there to contribute anything physically. Yet like every other Nigerian, we all wish to see Nigeria great. Please don’t let us to see each other as enemies. We all love Nigeria and wish to see her great.

“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools”Martin Luther king.

To those in the PDP, please don’t see yourselves as losers. I would rather adjoin you to view yourself as history makers who have been able to successfully hand over a government without spilling blood. As many have feared. Thank you Dr. Jonathan and congratulations to all Nigerians.
