I recently had an interview where some interesting questions were asked. I am sharing the questions and answers with you because I believe they will help enlighten and explain some misconceptions people have about me and what I am about. Please read, and share this piece so that others can also benefit from it.

Many back in Nigeria are not comfortable with your approach. Some think you have gone gaga. How will you react to this?
Well, I think that as a minister of the lord Jesus Christ, I shouldn’t burden myself with making people feel comfortable. We are not in a business of comfort and making people comfortable. If a minister just wants to make people comfortable, then that minister is not a minister of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says that we cannot please man and God at the same time.
James 4:4 said, “… Therefore, whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.”
I have decided to be a friend of God, which means the only person I want to please is God. I am not interested in pleasing man.
To say that I have lost my mind or “gone gaga” as they said, is a good complement for me because that was what they said about Jesus Christ also. They said, He was a Beelzebub and he was demon possessed. I guess I am in a good company with Jesus Christ, and not just that but also in a company with Apostle Paul as it’s in Galatians chapter 2: 11
“When Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned.”
So I am doing the same thing, I am withstanding the people who are destroying the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. I am withstanding them to their faces and publicly just as Paul did to Peter. So, if that qualifies me to have gone gaga, sure that is one of the greatest complements for me.
In that same Galatians 2:14, Paul wrote that
“when I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all, “You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?”.
You see that because of the fact that Peter was not straightforward with the truth of the gospel, Paul was forced to rebuke him publicly. I am doing the same thing today. The truth of the gospel must be paramount and supreme to anybody’s convenience. Besides that, in Galatians 1;6-10 the bible tells us,
“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preaches any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. Nor do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”
So, I am in the same company with Paul. He saw that people of God had turned away from the grace of Christ, the same which I see today.
- The Nigerian church has turned away from the grace of Christ.
- The church in Nigeria is now preaching a different gospel
And the bible said, if anybody preaches another gospel even if he is an angel from heaven. He must be rebuked and actually accursed for preaching another gospel.
- The Nigerian church has perverted the gospel of Christ. And the bible had encouraged us to expose, rebuke and to correct such a situation. This is what the bible command us to do and I cannot do any other than the instruction of the Bible. The Bible specifically says, if anyone preaches any other gospel, the person must be accursed and like Paul I will say, what do I do? Do I now please men or God? No Sir, because if I will please men, then I am no longer a servant of God.
So, that is what is informing my method of the reformation and correction campaign that I am leading in the body of Christ. So, if people are not comfortable with that, it’s actually not meant to make people comfortable. Because if people are comfortable, then they don’t change. People must begin to feel uncomfortable so they begin to realize what is wrong in the Nigerian church, and then they can be able to change it. But if we leave the Nigerian Church in the comfort they are in now, then that comfort will kill them.
Comfort is one of the greatest enemies of human progress and development. As long as the Nigerian church is comfortable with what they are doing, they would never be any progress and civilization. But if we make them comfortable, we stand a chance of rescuing the African church.
