He has shared many stories of his path to greatness
I have read many of his books and listened to countless messages
I have asked him questions, innumerable questions, he is always patient to answer no matter how flimsy the question is
He believes so much in me, indeed in everyone.

I have met numerous pastors and countless men of God
I have heard of preachers and several great men
I have read of mighty men, movers and shakers
What I discovered and cherish most about you is that you are a leader

I have seen you make deep sacrifices for people as a leader
I have seen you put yourself last for others to shine
I have seen how you love people so deeply that I wondered if you are Jesus in the flesh
I have seen you provide platforms for people and show them patterns of how things ought to be done
I have seen how you believe in people regardless of their past or history
I have seen fruit of taking men off the streets, prisons, brothels and transform them into politicians, academics, businessmen’ Pastors etc
You have been a father, a mentor, inspiration, coach and friend
You are so high, yet so low the lowliest of people around you feels well at home and welcomed
You are always listening to people

You heard me wish for a fraction of what you have been able to accomplish
But then as a leader, you hit me in the gut
You said ‘Success, I will personally call you a waste if you do not accomplish more than me or Steve Jobs’
You said you have an Idea of what I could be and if you told me, even I would not believe you
You said I can become anything if I would only choose to develop myself daily
You said I should pay attention to details and excellence will not be an issue
You believe in me so much that you give me complex assignments to do
Everyday with you is a school, every moment a class and every word of yours a lesson…

Well, I could go on and on but I choose to pause
While today is not Pastor Sunday Adelaja’s birthday
I am only writing a brief of my encounter with this giant of faith
