RE: THE PASTOR SUNDAY ADELAJA NIGERIANS DON’T KNOW

I am a Nigerian by birth, one of the few that has had the privileged, not just to hear about the exploits of Pastor Sunday Adelaja from a distance, unlike so many of my compatriots.
In actual fact, I have been privileged to live in the Ukraine in the last 7 years of my life and to observe firsthand the incredible story of the life and ministry of Pastor Sunday Adelaja.

I cannot therefore keep quiet after reading through comments and reactions of fellow Nigerians to his so called political articles on Facebook. I have discovered that most people don’t really know who they are talking about or what they are talking about. I know, therefore I can speak!

It is greatly alarming…
The level of ignorance and backwardness among the youths of my nation is astonishing…
Of a truth the depth of wisdom in scriptures…
Jesus said to them a prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home. Mark 6:4 (NIV) Having read Pastor Sunday’s articles and all the crazy comments, I see coming from majority of the people. The so called “Pastors, Evangelists, Bishops, Christians and youths”. I am dumb founded!!!

At first I was urged to comment or better still respond to all the allegations, abuses, lies commented on these articles by Pastor Sunday. Imagine all these abusive comments are heaped upon the Man of God just for voicing out his convictions. I did actually comment on some, but on the other hand, I said to myself, of what use is it to further bring self so low to the level of the ignorant? As the Bible correctly puts it, they have eyes, but they cannot see and ears, but cannot hear.

One of the things that amazes me the most, is the fact that most of these people supposedly call themselves Christians. My question then is, what kind of Christianity do we practice in Nigeria and what kind of Bible do we read? The one that permits us to abuse, hate and disrespect? Well, I don’t think so!!! I think we have lost our Christian values. It is so sad that people are not ready to seek knowledge and wisdom. People are not ready to learn and are not open to new ideas. Whatever seems wrong in the direction of their religious minds, is automatically erroneous to their minds, to them it must be from the pit of hell. That really, is very shocking! The kind of Christianity I see in Nigeria these days, can be liken to what Jesus encountered in his own time with the Pharisees and seduces.

Fellow Nigerians, let me enlighten you on the Pastor Sunday the majority of you don’t know.
• Pastor Sunday is the pastor of the largest Evangelical Church in Europe with a population of 99.9% white Europeans.
• His ministry has charity units that feed over 5000 people on a daily basis.
• Through his ministry over 30 thousand people have been delivered from drug and alcohol addictions.
• He has raised over 200 millionaires in US dollars in his church, most of whom were former drug/ alcohol addicts and societal outcasts.
• He has personally raised a ministry movement that is influencing over 70million people around the globe.
• Branches of his church are in over 50 countries.
• He is a pastor of pastors, and a pastor of presidents.
• He has spoken in different nations of the world on national transformation.
• He has been consulted on different national issues, which has been resolved when they adhered to his Bible based principles.
• Pastor Sunday is one of the few, if not the only African, who has ever spoken in the US senate.
• Pastor Sunday is one of the few African pastors who has spoken on the floor of the UN.
• He has addressed the Japanese Members of parliament
• He has spoken in the Knesset to members of Israeli parliament. The list goes on and on
• PASTOR SUNDAY IS A MAN FULL OF WISDOM AND RESULTS.
• His ministry has over 500 hundred government officials holding different government positions in Ukraine.
• He has written and published over 300 books and recorded thousands of messages.
…To mention but a few of his achievements worldwide.

As a matter of fact, I am so amazed that a man of such influence will speak and people will not listen. Not only that they would not listen, but resolve to insults and abusing his person. Calling him names and telling him to shut up. Some even went as far as calling him a fool. Wow!!! “… Really”??? When I begin to take a look at the life of all these people making this comments, all I can say is, I see a bunch of people with eyes yet blind, with ears yet deaf, having brains, but can’t think. It is as though they can’t reason.

• I cry for a nation that can’t recognize a deliverer when they see one.
• I cry for the body of Christ who have totally lost what Christianity is all about- Truth
• I cry for a people who think they know it all, though know nothing.
• I cry for a generation of youths who have no respect for elders or value for wisdom.
• I cry for a people who have archived nothing in life but are so bold to shut an achiever’s mouth up. What an irony!
• I cry, because with this kind of attitude if not redirected, the end of such people is easily predictable. A people lost in the labyrinth of mediocrity.
I would like to address some of the ridiculous and disturbing comments that were made about Pastor Sunday’s articles, which I must say are shocking to me.

Some accuse him of tribalism due to his endorsement of Buhari/Osinbajo ticket. I would like to ask, how can you possibly call a man who runs a congregation of over twenty five thousand people, who are 99.9% white Europeans a tribalist? A man who has a 100% white staff. A man who can barely speak his dialect any longer, is accused of being tribalistic?
I sincerely think some of these people are totally out of touch with the truth, or completely blinded by their religious views. Otherwise, they are certainly living in ignorance of the highest order.

I was not surprised to see people commenting that he has been paid, or better still has his personal interest hence his endorsement. The Bible rightly said it, “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks”. Their comments speaks louder about them than it does about Pastor Sunday.

For me, it is a big shame for people to even think in this way about the person of Pastor Sunday. It only reveals to me the lack of integrity and patriotism possessed by the commentators. It’s even sadder to discover this is coming from the Christians and some so called Pastors, Bishops and Evangelists.
MY HEART BLEEDS!!!
What exactly is happening to the body of Christ in Nigeria?
GOD HAVE MERCY!!!
What personal interest can someone like Pastor Sunday possibly get from Buhari/Osibanjo that he can’t get from President Jonathan? If only we can pulse to think. This is a food for thought…

Talking about interest, Pastor Sunday has a lot more to gain from the administration of President Jonathan as some of his disciples are directly working with him. But this is a man that is dead to self and self-gains. He is a very successful man. Pastor Sunday is not a hungry man!!!
Pastor Sunday will not and cannot be bribed. He cannot not be bought or silenced by death threats. A man that is ready to lay down his life for a foreign nation, how much more for his nation of birth.
Whatsoever Pastor Sunday is convinced of to be the truth, nothing or no one can stop him, for truth is his best friend. Like he rightly quoted Sir Isaac Newton in his article: Plato is my friend — Aristotle is my friend — but my greatest friend is truth.

His convictions are based on how he is lead “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God”. Romans 8:14. Some said he took his position because he was misinformed by somebody. This is even more absurd. How on earth can any reasonable person just take such a huge decision based on some information from someone? Not to talk of a man like Pastor Sunday Adelaja. I think some people have made it a duty to fabricate lies just to make a pointless point.

As a matter of fact, before Pastor Sunday could take such a public stand, he has done a thorough research on both candidates. As a dynamic leader and a king maker that he is, he definitely knows a good leader when he sees one. Some said he is not in Nigeria and as such does not know what is going on in Nigeria. My question is, do you really need to be in Nigeria to know what is going on? From the comments I have read, I can boldly say, most of those commenting from Nigeria, have a narrow view of the situation in the country. We can even say some are brainwashed, hence they believe in falsehood.

The truth is pastor Sunday is a citizen of Nigeria and as such, has every right to talk about the political situations in the nation. This is one of the many areas Pastor Sunday is very knowledgeable. He has received numerous awards. He has countless results in Europe and in other continents. He accomplished this not necessarily living in the said countries yet he had a positive influence on those nations. As such I don’t think the case of Nigeria is any different. Pastor Sunday doesn’t have to live in Nigeria to understand the Nigerian situation.
As a matter of fact the situation in Nigeria is straight forward, the only challenge I see in Nigeria is that of ignorance. People are not ready for the truth, they are rather motivated by sentiment and religion.

Some said he is a fake Pastor, a Pastor from the pit of hell, he is a backsliding Pastor etc. That to me is very interesting, I guess some people have assumed the duty of God, to determine who is fake and who is real.
The bible said in Matthew 7:17-20 ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

The above Passage explains it all. If a man whose ministry has affected over seventy million lives for Christ, restored over 30,000 drug/alcohol addicts, feeding over 5000 hungry people on a daily basis, raised over 200 millionaires that are all focused on the Kingdom work, is a fake pastor, then permit me to ask you honorable Pastors, Evangelists, Bishops, Christians and youths, where are your results? Where are your fruits? What have you done for the kingdom of God on the global scale? TALK IS CHEAP TO THOSE WHO LACK WISDOM. Telling someone who knows a lot more than you do to shut up, is a pure display of foolishness sorry to say, but this is the truth.

Some say he should stay out of politics and be focused on the gospel. I will really love to see the scriptures that instructed pastors to stay out of politics. People have become so religious that they have lost touch with what Christianity truly means.
Others said Pastor Sunday should simply pray and not speak out. Really? Prayer without work is activity in futility. James 2:26 for as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

The punishment which the wise suffer who refuse to take part in the government, is to live under the government of worse men. Ralph waldo Emerson.
In conclusion my fellow Nigerians, my fellow youths, my fellow Christians. Let’s listen to the voice of wisdom. Let’s be reasonable and cultivate a teachable spirit. Let’s be more embracing to our differences. We can disagree to agree. We can argue constructively. You must not agree with his views, but that does not change the fact that he has the right to his opinions. Only people without reason resort to abuses. Please let us not be people void of reason.
GOD BLESS NIGERIA!!!
