POWERFUL WAYS OF BUILDING A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
There are other ways of building a sustainable relationship with the Lord which could be through meditation, thinking, meditation on God’s word, meditation on His truth, meditating on His goodness, meditating on His creation. This is totally different from meditating in eastern religions when people have to blind their minds in the pursuit of God. In this case it is rather filling your mind with the reality and essence of God.
Another powerful way we could build relationship with God is through love. Loving God and loving people could be another way of coming close to God. A wonderful example in this case is Mother Teresa. She demonstrated to us that by loving God and man, we could accomplish the will of God on the earth. Thanks to this principle, her memory is larger than life even after her death.
As you can see my friends, the bottom line is developing intimacy with the master. A true relationship with God will always give birth to fruits. Of course the fruits we see first start with invisible fruits like inspiration. However, if you could be inspired, then you could go to work afterwards. If you could be inspired, then you can work tirelessly. If you could be inspired, you could be inspired to love and work with people passionately. Inspiration is a clear fruit of intimacy which will lead you to abundance of fruits one way or another.
One other not quite tangible fruit of intimacy, but which eventually produces tangible results is muse. Intimacy produces muse. We don’t see it, but no great creation on earth is produced without it. Some of the greatest products of art and culture in our world owe their origin to the divine muse that was injected into them by the Spirit of God. All great inventors and discoverers owe their inventions and discoveries to some divine muse they got. There is nothing that could produce a muse, better than intimacy with God. Under the power of a muse, men and women begin to do the unimaginable. When you have a muse, work become easy, labor becomes a pleasure and results become cheap.
Another product of intimacy that eventually leads to tangible fruits are ideas. Ideas that come in form of thoughts, words, and suggestions are a direct result of a time of intimacy with Him that called Himself the WORD. When you are intimate with Him, He sends His word into your spirit, they come to you in form of thoughts, words and ideas, which when worked upon become tangible products.
Ladies and gentlemen, what I am trying to say is that one of the best ways that God has made us to be fruitful is to be closely associated with the very one who gave us the innate ability to be fruitful.
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:4-5
