THE SECRET OF FRUITFULNESS {PART 7}

HOW TO GET THE BEST METHODS, TACTICS AND STRATEGIES

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:4-5

In this scripture God seems to cement the truth we have enumerated. The most powerful secret to fruit bearing is abiding in intimate relationship with the master. Jesus makes the point brilliantly by referring himself as the vine and to us as the branches. Obviously no branch of a tree could survive on its own talk less of bearing fruits without the tree. That intimate abiding is the secret of great fruitfulness.

Sometimes we want to rush out to go work for our fruits. Then we soon discover that work is hard and labor is strenuous. Abiding though in intimate relationship gives you the necessary direction, inspiration, energy, all of which make work and labor easy and productive. When we want to run off however, without the intimacy, we run into all forms of disappointments and disillusionments.

At times we try to replace intimacy with some methods and tactics, which are simply borrowed from other people. That doesn’t work too well either. It is in such cases we find ourselves working and laboring without anything to show for it. We need our own formulas, we need our own blue print and they can only come from a time of genuine intimacy with the owner of the universe.

When we rather settle for human methods, tactics and human made models for bearing fruits apart from seeking intimacy with the master, it is like leaving our now legal union with our present husband the Lord, to court for fruit from another source. It is like the picture of a woman who is legally married but looking to bear fruit through another man who is not her legally married partner.

Ladies and gentlemen we are married to Christ; He should therefore be the sole source of our fruits. We only use methods, tactics, strategies from other people, only after we have been intimate enough with our master and husband Jesus Christ. Remember, he paid the price of death to set us free from our past connections, that we were once obliged to. His death settled all our previous yokes and past history so that we are now legally united only with Him. That means our fruits must only come from our intimacy with Him.

Don’t get me wrong, human methods, other people’s models and experiences could be used by us, but only as a means of containing the fruits, rather than the source of the fruits. So the true source of productivity and fruitfulness is intimate relationship with our source. When we are thus intimate with him, He makes known to us the best methods, tactics, strategies to apply as we labor and work for our fruits and intimacy. It is just much better when we don’t just run off to do our own thing in our own way. It is much more expedient to receive guidance and insight from the source of all things.

Ladies and gentlemen, I hope I was able to convince you that fruitfulness is your inheritance. To maintain that inheritance, you need to maintain a constant relationship with your master and husband who is the source of all things. By abiding in intimate relationship with the Lord, we open for ourselves a source of unlimited fruitfulness and productivity.

May this article be used by God not just to set you free, it is my prayer that every one of you who is reading this would go forward to begin to use the truth from here to set others free.
