BEGGING AND PRAYING FOR MIRACLES REDUCES THE POTENCY OF GOD IN YOUR LIFE
If you sit idly and expect miracles to lead to your prosperity, you are deceiving yourself, and going against the teaching of the Bible. If your pastor preaches inexplicable provisions, and undeserved wealth, be smart, get your bags and leave. Anyone that eats where he did not work is a thief and a fraudster.
Another reason why people believe their prosperity can only be found in miracles is that they live under the assumption that they were created to be less than and inferior to others. They have wrongly accepted that those that are using hard work to accomplish great things were created to be superior. As a result, they see no other way out of their conditions than to pray and hope for a miraculous breakthrough. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
“You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings, and crowned him with glory and honour.” — Psalms 8:5
The Bible affirms in the scripture above that as humans, we have been created to be just a little lower than the angels. That means we have been imbued with capabilities to rival that of the angels, and they have only a little edge over us. If this is so, why should you assume that you are helpless and can’t prosper through your own hard work? If you are nearly as endowed as angels, don’t you think that you have it in you to be a creator and not an incessant beggar?
You have the nature of God in you. Your rich relative or friend is not better than you; stop begging him. Stop spending hours asking for miracles when you already have the ability in you to create extraordinary things. God has already given you all that you need to prosper; all the time you have spent asking for miracles should have been spent working; discovering and developing the multiple facets you have been gifted from creation. What is the point of going to mountains to pray for 21 days, 100 days, with incessant fasting when you already have the ability to prosper through work?
A student was preparing for a scholarship exam, and in order to help him pass exceedingly, his father decided to take his annual leave so he could have the time to prepare his son adequately. Every day, the father taught the boy all he needed to pass the exams. He taught him how to commit formulas to memory, how to solve calculation problems, and how to analyze theory questions properly in order to answer them correctly. He spent hours preparing his son and giving him everything he needed and more. He did all he could to make sure the boy was well-equipped to face the exam and pass with flying colors.
On the day of the exam, the boy was ushered into the classroom while his father waited outside. When he was given the question paper, the boy requested to see his father. The invigilator asked why, and the boy said, “I need his help to answer these questions.” The invigilator was puzzled, “Didn’t you prepare for this exam? Hold on, let me talk to your dad.” After a while, the invigilator returned and said, “Your father just told me how well he trained you for this exam, and with what I heard, I have no doubt that he has given you all you need to do excellently. You have all the help you need; it is now up to you to do your part.”
You are the student in this story, and God is the father that has given all you need to prosper. As such, there is no need to be spending all your time praying when all you need to do is work. The Bible says you have been crowned with glory and honor. If this is so, why will you travel for days to see a pastor who will lay hands on you to give you glory and honor? You already have it; you have been fully equipped from the start. “So why are my glory and honor not manifesting?” you ask. Well, it isn’t manifesting because you haven’t been working on it, because you are spending your time looking for miracles and not developing yourself. If the boy in the story above spends the entirety of the exam asking to see his father, will he pass? Of course not!
“Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet.”— Psalms 8:6
The passage above says that we, you and I, have been made to have dominion over all the works of God’s hand. If this is so, why beg and give your dominion to someone else? Begging for miracles, hoping for miracles and praying for inadvertently miracles reduces the potency of God in your life. You are reducing the Grace of God in you; you are reducing the power of God in you, by waiting for some people to perform some miracles on you; you are relegating yourself to the position of a beggar. By constant dependency on miracles, you are reducing the dominance and superiority you were created with. Apart from the fact that miracles can’t bring you prosperity, you’re wasting time you could be using to work on and develop yourself.
God has done his part and given us more than we could ever need. He has done his part and has given us the spirit of a creator. The Bible says that man has been given dominion over the works of his hand, over everything that God created on the earth. If we have, indeed, been created to rule over all things, what are you doing begging? What are you doing praying to God for a miracle He has already done. You are supposed to be getting yourself engaged; you are supposed to be busy, researching, digging deep into how to explore nature, and have dominion over it. Your work on earth should be how to be able to take advantage of the authority you have been given, and how to be able to use it more for the glory of our God. You are supposed to research more, get into a personal relationship with God so as to hear His voice and direction clearer. Instead of praying for miracles, you should be keying into God’s wisdom in order to take your rightful place over all creation.
It is sad to see that it is the unbelievers that are taking advantage of the superior nature we have all been blessed with. Rather than work on creating, most Christians are busy begging for miracles. People who have been given dominion over all things are the ones crawling and stretching their hands begging for miracles. They are going against the nature of God that they have been blessed with and by doing so, undermining the grace and power of God. By doing so, you make God look bad; you make him look ordinary. You’re putting the almighty in the same category as the gods to whom idol worshipers have to go and beg, make sacrifices to, and appeal to every day because he is deaf and blind because he doesn’t know what is happening. But you are treating God the same way as if he is deaf, dumb, and blind. Like he doesn’t know what is happening and has to be persuaded.
God is way more than that, and he created you and me to be more than that. We are not beggars; we are creators. Own your nature! Create and prosper!

Do not sit and wait in hope, do not spend your days in that place of worship fasting and praying for your miracle. Work! Be up and doing, and see yourself prosper more than you could ever imagine. Continuously waiting for miracles will only make you a beggar as you will become a liability on everyone.
