Losing a wallet or purse is a terrible feeling.
But a California woman’s day was saved by a 10-year-old boy who had clearly been raised to do the right thing.
Nasim Lawrence discovered the wallet at a motocross event in Oakland, and sent it back to n with an amazing letter.
“I know how it feels to lose something and I wanted to make sure you got your wallet back. Hopefully, I have made you smile and you are happy to have your money and ID back. I am glad I found it instead of some bad person who would steal from you,” he wrote.
Sloan, who had already gotten a new driver’s license and canceled her credit card, was “overjoyed” when she got the special delivery.
“It was adorable. I just kept reading it and it kept making me smile,” she said, explaining she’s sending Nasim a thank-you letter and a bag of candy.
Nasim even made his mother spend a little extra money on the postage so he could track the shipment and make sure it arrived.
Taylor Sloan, of Santa Rosa, was indeed happy.
“It was so sweet,” she told INSIDE EDITION Monday. “I was overjoyed, really. It was adorable. I just kept reading it and it kept making me smile. I just wanted to tell everyone that was around me.”
The 22-year-old, who recently graduated from Sonoma State University, showed it off to her co-workers at a Petaluma law firm.
The letter actually arrived at her mother’s house, based on an old address on her driver’s license. Her mom sent her a cell phone photo of the letter, and her money, ID and debit card.
“My mom said she was going to post it to Facebook and I said, ‘No! That’s for me to do!”’
She first noticed her wallet was missing after the motocross event on Jan. 30. She got a new driver’s license and her debit card was cancelled by her mom.
Three days later, the letter arrived in the mail.
