JESUS’ EXAMPLE OF A PROPER SELF-ESTEEM:
• Jesus is our prime example: what did he say about himself? Among many other things, he said “I and the father are one” (John 10:30)
• It is possible some of his hearers thought Jesus might be a bit too proud of Himself. The Pharisees harbored feelings even more aggressive, they wanted to stone him to death.
• Today many people have that same problem, in fact we all have a bit of Pharisees’ attitude in our hearts and minds.
• Jesus knew who He was and understood His value, we must be the same way too.
• Jesus said “you are the salt of the earth…You are the light of the world.”
• Jesus made us responsible for salting and bringing light to the earth.
• When Jesus was on earth, He was the light of the world. We now have to shine, because He said we are now the light of the world and salt of the earth.
• We are the ones to assume responsibility of improving the world we live in.
