CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE TO MY CRITICS.

Hello everybody, Congratulations my fellow Nigerians on the just concluded presidential elections. Thank God that we got a new president, it doesn’t really matter who wins, but thank God we had a successful election. It’s much better than what most people thought. Most people thought that we are going to have more violence, but thank God that everything ended up well.

Today, I want to talk to my dear critics. You might not believe this, but I actually took my time to read every critical comment that people wrote on my wall. I took my time to note every argument. To hear their reasoning. I decided to keep quiet, because they didn’t know what I know.

They don’t know the position I am speaking from, because everything is about perspective. With all humility, some of my critics have not been to where I have been, hence they are not Pastor Sunday. If I had lived by the things they were telling me to do, I won’t have being who I am today, but still I want to appreciate all of you that criticized me and wrote something negative. Thank you for your views.

A wise man once said…

“People don’t want to hear the truth because they don’t want their illusions destroyed” – Friedrich Nietzsche

So, I don’t mind criticism, I don’t mind people expressing opposing views about my opinion, but I want to appeal to Nigerians to be more civil and sophisticated in disagreement. This is the point I am trying to make, that if we disagree with other people, it doesn’t mean we should insult them. We don’t need to become abusive. We shouldn’t begin to rain down curses upon others. That is a bit crossing the borders right there. No one needs to do that to anyone at all. Talk less of to somebody who might be older than you are or who might have being to where you have not being to. Someone who might have more experience than you. More so, to someone who might be more successful than you are.

Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor”. Romans 13:7

I am really very sorry, if maybe some things I said offended some of you. If my words sparked the emotions in you. If my style flamed the sentiments in you. If anything I did or said made you to want to respond the way you responded. So if I am responsible for anything wrong in your opinion, I apologize for that.

“Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law”. Romans 13:8

I also want to say, in the European society I have being living in for almost thirty years. People make their points very clear in a discussion, an argument or debate. You discuss, argue and disagree logically. The most important thing is that you have to bring out your points. You have to be sound about it for you to be taken seriously. As you state your case, you listen to other people as well. If you convince me I agree with you, on the other hand, if I convince you, you have the right to either agree or disagree with my position. There is no room for abuses and insults. We learn to disagree without touching the integrity of others.

Apart from all that, even the bible adjoins us not to speak evil of anyone. The bible encourages us to use our tongue to only bless and not curse. The Bible tells us to love our enemies. Even if you see anyone as an enemy, the Bible still requires you to love them.

On my part, God is my witness that I love everyone who disagrees with me. I definitely love President Jonathan, he is my president. But like I said in my articles “Jonathan is a Christian, Goodluck is my president, but the truth is my greatest friend”. I am trying to say what Newton said “Plato is my friend, Socrates is my friend, but truth is my greatest friend”. I needed to be faithful to the position of truth upon which I stand.

Titus 3:2to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men”.

Let’s all forget about our differences and let’s learn to build a new Nigeria together. Let’s support the new government, to build a better country for our children. God bless!
