WHAT MIRACLES WILL NOT DO FOR YOU (PART 7)

WHEN YOU GROW MENTALLY, YOU WILL NOT BE A MIRACLE SEEKER

Very few Christians are dominating the important spheres of the world. Politics, business, tech, entertainment et cetera are mostly dominated by people who either don’t believe in religion or those who don’t believe in God. It is a sad situation, but it isn’t really surprising. It isn’t surprising because the majority of Christians are busy seeking miracles instead of the presence of God and his wisdom. Rather than develop themselves mentally, many prefer to fast and pray for a miraculous breakthrough.

The purpose of the word of God is that it is converted. Anything that remains unconverted in the spirit realm is a waste, and it doesn’t benefit anybody on earth. All your spiritual experiences: praying, worship experience and so on, if unconverted to benefit humanity, is useless. It is only in conversion that people on earth will see the power of God in your life and glorify him because of your achievements.

Christians like to talk about spiritual blessings. However, all blessings from God in the spirit realm will remain irrelevant unless converted. You might have a wonderful worship experience, but unless converted, is irrelevant. This is because conversion requires mental growth. What this means in practical terms is: as a scientist, you could be in the realm of the spirit and channel that inspiration into something physical regarding your profession, research; your work. Things that had confounded you will begin to appear clearly; God will begin to lead you, you will begin to see with clarity of the spirit, you will begin to see with sharpness. Without mental maturity, however, the visions you see in the spirit will hold no meaning for you, and you will remain unable to convert it.

Mentally grown believers will be in the laboratories, they will be in boardrooms; wherever they are, they will be making changes to their generation. How so? Easy. They will be at the top of their respective fields because they are so mentally developed that they will be able to convert their spiritual encounters with God.

Most of the people that always seek for miracles in life have not understood the importance of mental growth. Some of these people have valid spiritual experiences, but they do not know how to convert them into physical and tangible manifestations. The search for miracles is only undertaken by people who are not mentally matured.

If you are a miracle-hungry believer, then it is very likely that your mental growth is lacking. If you are one of those that constantly ask for miracles, you can never be mentally grown, and as a result, you will never be able to convert God’s spiritual gifting.

Some Christians have crossed the first hurdle; they have grown so much in the spirit that they understand when they have spiritual encounters with God. They are mature in the spirit, and they know spiritual encounters are much more than just emotions and goosebumps. However, their mind has not developed along with their spirit, and even though they receive the information, they have no idea how to process and convert it.

They feel the spirit of God; they feel the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. However, they haven’t developed their mind/brain enough, and they have not learned how to convert their spiritual experiences. Why is conversion so hard? It is because it requires work, and many people do not like to work. They prefer to cry for miracles than to work hard. No miracle can help you convert your spiritual experiences to physical manifestations.

When you go to church and open your arms asking God to bless you, do you expect him to rain down bread and butter from heaven? Of course not! What you seek is a spiritual blessing, a touch of the spirit of God. This blessing, this encounter with God does not happen in the physical realm; it only happens in the spirit. Therefore, you have to convert this experience for it to be useful; you have to apply it for it to be relevant. It is in your hands to be mentally mature enough to convert the spiritual to the physical. It is up to you to manifest God’s spiritual blessings in the form of things that can be of use to you and the people around you.

It is a disgrace that as Christians, we say we interact with God, we say we walk with him, but we don’t have anything to show for it. You say you are spiritually developed and you are in constant communication with God, and yet, as an Economist, God cannot speak with you on how to solve the economic problems in your country. And all you can think of is to be praying for miracles. You’re a political analyst, and you have not received insight on how to solve the political crisis in your country, you’re an engineer yet you haven’t received wisdom to invent from God. Miracles do not lead to inventions. It is a developed mind who can convert inspiration from above to blessings for humanity. Please develop your mind and stop looking for miracles.

Nigeria is one of the biggest Christian states in the world, and we have so many issues plaguing us. When the atheist and unbelievers see this, they mock us and ask what the purpose of our relationship with God is. By not converting your spiritual experience, you are making a mockery of the power of God, by asking for miracles instead of working, you are dragging the name of God through the dirt. Our God is not blind to our struggle, he is not deaf to our cries, but how will help us when we, as sons of God have not taken the time to develop our minds enough to convert his spiritual gifts?

Daniel heard from God, he understood it, and he converted his spiritual relationship with God physically, Joseph saved lots of people from famine because he converted his spiritual encounter with God; when he heard about the famine that was to come, he didn’t spend days praying for a miracle. He worked, he stocked the stores of Egypt in preparation for the famine. When David was led by the spirit, he challenged Goliath head-on. He didn’t stand-by hoping a miracle would save his people. He acted.

Imagine that the Christians of today are walking along the same lines that David, Joseph, and Daniel did. Do you know how much influence Christians would wield if they converted the way the ancients did? We would be leaders in all industries. Unbelievers will not be out-performing us as they are today. We would be receiving wisdom and clarity from God and be converting it quickly with our work. Ideas on how to change the entertainment, technological, commerce, finance, information, industries, etc. for God will be coming to us. Spiritual encounters will spark inspiration that will lead to numerous inventions that will glorify the name of the Lord.

“In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16

The world is filled with darkness because only through darkness can light shine. You must know that you were put into this world for a purpose. We are supposed to be the light; we were supposed to be the ones that unbelievers, the people in the dark look up to. As the verse above says, it is only when our light shines through the darkness can it be seen and recognized. Our work here on earth is to use our relationship with God to make the world a better place so that the world can appreciate the power and glory of God.

Instead, we are chasing miracles, unbelievers are making great strides, and we have reduced Christianity to a joke through our miracle-hungry gospel. If we continue this way, unbelievers will not only mock us; they’ll use our life as examples as to why God doesn’t exist. If you don’t have something substantial to show for all your hours of worship, people will see no reason to go to church with you.

We were made in the likeness of God; we are his representatives in the world. We are supposed to be a reflection of the great things he is capable of. We are partakers in the kingdom; we are sons and daughters of the Almighty. If Jesus fed the poor, that should drive you to do the same by building industries and markets. If he healed the sick, you’re supposed to build hospitals and discover cures for deadly diseases.

“You are either becoming more like Christ every day or you are becoming less like him. There is no neutral position in the Lord.”—Stormie Omartian (Writer, Singer, Author)

Are you emulating the life Jesus lived? If you aren’t, then, according to the Stormie Omartian above, you are living a life that is unlike that of Christ, and living Christ-like is what Christianity is all about. Ergo, if you are not becoming more like Christ every day, you are becoming less of a Christian. You are becoming a spiritual dwarf.

When you go to ask God for a miracle, you sadden him. He sees you as a son and gifted you accordingly, but there you are groveling like a slave. Make God proud of you, use the spiritual blessings he gifts you to bless the world so that his name will be glorified for your sake, even (especially) among unbelievers.

At this point, I guess you are wondering why most pastors and leaders of the church are seriously propagating the miracle-laden messages despite the fact that miracle is not supposed to be the norm as you have clearly seen in this week’s article. Though some of these pastors do that out of ignorance, in the bid to follow the status quo. But I can tell you that there are some others that are quite aware of these truths but have decided to ignore it because of some ulterior motives.

Miracles cannot help you get to the heights God destined you for; it cannot help you become a success in your field of influence. To do this, you need to walk with God in spirit and in truth, and without spiritual and mental growth, this is impossible.
